ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Milan Palacio

I began to appreciate the diverse ways individuals think, behave, and respond, recognizing that each person possesses a unique personality and perspective. The multifaceted nature of people, our varying roles, behaviors, and responses, was not only fascinating to me but also aligned with my natural inclinations.

Ultimately, this interest evolved into a professional journey in Human Resources, where I have been actively engaged for over eight years and continue to grow.

Throughout my career, I have explored various facets of the Human Resources organizational structure, gaining exposure to different organizational cultures, ideals, and strategic objectives.

Among these, Carolina’s vision and commitment to transparency have resonated with me most strongly, as they align closely with my professional values and long-term aspirations.

In my role as a Relationship Manager, I have consistently supported employees’ practical and professional needs while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

This position has enabled me to apply established best practices and provide well-founded recommendations that effectively balance both employer and employee requirements.

Relationship Manager

"As a Relationship Manager and with my experience as an HR professional, I view my role as more than supporting operations, I see it as championing the people behind the performance. Beyond metrics and results are individuals with aspirations, stories, and unique strengths. My goal is to ensure that our people remain at the center of every decision, policy, and partnership we cultivate."

How did you get started in the virtual assistant/digital marketing industry, and what drew you to it?

I first learned about the Virtual Assistant industry through my friends and my older brother prior to the onset of the pandemic in 2020. At that time, I had not yet fully understood the breadth of opportunities it could offer to Filipino professionals.

However, when the pandemic significantly disrupted traditional work arrangements, I came to recognize the true potential of remote work.

I realized that working from home was not only possible but also highly sustainable, particularly for individuals with specialized skill sets.

The Virtual Assistant industry has since proven to be a valuable avenue for empowering professionals to build meaningful careers while improving their quality of life and contributing productively, all within the comfort and safety of their homes.

If your job came with a theme song, what would it be and why?

I also consider myself an “old soul,” drawing inspiration from timeless music and enduring values. The song Immortality by Celine Dion and the Bee Gees reflects my professional philosophy, particularly in its message about purpose, perseverance, and creating meaningful impact that stands the test of time.

Highlight your unique methods and tips for staying organised and efficient.

To maintain efficiency, I utilize a unified tracking system where essential information is easily accessible wherein everything is just one “Ctrl+f” away. I consider myself as a person with undiagnosed OCD, which helps me in retaining important items to remember and things that are in my priority list.

What’s one unexpected skill or talent you bring to the team that people might not know about?

One unexpected skill I bring to the team is my ability to design and implement highly structured tracking and workflow systems that simplify complex processes.

While my background is in Human Resources and People Business Partnering, many may not immediately recognize how deeply I focus on operational efficiency behind the scenes. I have a strong inclination toward building unified trackers, documentation systems, and process maps that ensure information is organized, accessible, and actionable.

This allows me to anticipate potential gaps, minimize risks, and ensure that both employee concerns and business requirements are addressed proactively rather than reactively.

Beyond relationship management, this structured approach enables me to balance empathy with data-driven decision-making. In essence, while my role centers on people, one of my unexpected strengths is creating clarity and order within complexity.

This skill will help the team operate more efficiently, maintain accountability, and ultimately foster stronger, more sustainable working relationships.

Reveal a surprising aspect of your personality or abilities that adds value to your role.

I place significant value on organization and structure. I am naturally inclined to ensure that processes, documents, and systems are orderly and efficient, as this enhances both functionality and productivity.

I make it a practice to review urgent and high-priority matters at the start of each day to ensure that everything is properly aligned and accounted for, much like a chef preparing a complete mise en place before service begins.

This disciplined approach allows me to work proactively and with confidence.
