ABOUT THE DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST

Katrina Najera

What’s your superhero origin story? How did you become the Digital Marketing Specialist at Advice2Talent?

I got my foot in the door at Advice2Talent just a year after graduating university. I decided to shoot my shot and take a leap into the world I knew best: social media, writing, and content creation.

As a Gen Z who lived and breathed social media, I also brushed up on my skills in website content, design, and SEO.

All of that combined to land me what I consider the most wonderful position here—as the company’s Digital Marketing Specialist.

Alongside my colourful college experience as a student journalist, I got a head start in digital marketing by interning at different BPOs as a content writer and marketing specialist.

Those experiences shaped my ability to create compelling content while balancing multiple tasks—a skill I continue to rely on every day.

Digital Marketing Specialist

"Advice2Talent saw the energy and potential I could bring, and gave me room to run with it. Marketing, to me, is about showing the heart of the company. The people behind the numbers have lives, stories, and dreams—and my goal is to bring those stories to life, to put the humans at the centre of everything we share."

How did you get started in the virtual assistant/digital marketing industry, and what drew you to it?

Even during university, I was freelancing—writing web content, blogging, creating video content, and managing social media for clients around the world. This variety allowed me to become a jack of all trades, tackling topics from lifestyle to healthcare, manufacturing to food. Within two years, I learned to adapt quickly and produce content, no matter the industry. That ability to connect with different audiences drew me deeper into digital marketing and inspired my love for creating meaningful, people-first content.

If your job came with a theme song, what would it be and why?

Of all the songs on my work playlist, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” by Taylor Swift hits different. You work in digital marketing long enough, and you quickly realise that there’s always a million things happening behind the scenes. And yet somehow it all has to look effortless and polished to everyone else. That line—”I cry a lot but I am so productive, it’s an art”—is not even an exaggeration! Even on hectic days, I’m brainstorming new content, writing copy, and designing graphics that shine. For me, making marketing look easy while keeping it creative and engaging? That’s the art of the job.

I keep a bullet journal to stay on track. As a creative person, my mind often runs a thousand and one directions at once. Breaking tasks down into manageable steps allows me to focus, experiment, and see each idea through—without losing sight of the bigger picture.

What’s one unexpected skill or talent you bring to the team that people might not know about?

I’m a tarot reader! Over the past five years, I’ve dived into tarot cards and astrological birth charts. I occasionally hold readings for friends, family, and even strangers—and I blog (and sometimes vlog) about the new techniques and mysteries I discover along the way.

Reveal a surprising aspect of your personality or abilities that adds value to your role.

Through and through, I am a storyteller. As a writer and filmmaker, I naturally think in narratives, and I bring that perspective to social media content. Even a short post or a graphic carries a story. Before creating anything, I ask myself: if I were a client or candidate, would I learn something new? Would this leave a story worth sharing? That human-centred approach keeps our content engaging, meaningful, and memorable.
