ABOUT THE Operations Manager

Indy Noval

What’s your superhero origin story? How did you become the General Manager at Advice2Talent?

I joined the VA industry in 2019. I’ve been working since I was 18 so I’ve taken on many different roles and responsibilities. The jobs that I’ve taken in the VA industry are one of the most enjoyable ones. I was invited to join A2T in mid-2024 and I took on the challenge of working for another start up.

Share your professional journey in a fun, narrative style.

As mentioned, I’ve been working since I was 18 so I’ve tried a lot of different jobs. In corporate, I’ve worked for customer service, marketing, management, and human resources. I also have experience in the academic filed as a Psychology teacher in one of the biggest universities here in the Philippines. I also have experience in the broadcasting industry as a radio presenter. Throughout my career, however varied the industries I’ve worked in, human connection and communication is what connects them all. Despite being introverted, I enjoy working with people, hearing their stories, and learning from them.

List. Everything. Down. Don’t just keep it all in your head. Make an actual list in a word document or something so you don’t forget.

Operations/General Manager

Highlight your unique methods and tips for staying organized and efficient.

I don’t think it’s unique. I fill out my calendar with reminders and name or label files and folders properly. It might sound like a minor detail but using the right label/name on a file or an event can save you so much time.

How did you get started in the virtual assistant industry, and what drew you to it?

I was invited by a friend to join a young VA agency back in 2019. I’ve taken on remote work before as a freelance copywriter/Google ads manager, so working remote is nothing new to me. What got me really interested in the role was how fun it was working and growing a startup. The VA industry is also very different from the usual BPO call center environment where I came from. I like how you, as a VA, can develop a long-lasting relationship with your client and help them grow their business. Most clients would also see their VAs as vital members of their team and empower them to become the best versions of themselves. It’s a much more personal relationship compared to the usual BPO setup.

If your job came with a theme song, what would it be and why? Add a personal touch by sharing a song that represents your role or work ethic.

Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley. That song speaks for itself. I WILL PERSEVERE AND NEVER GIVE UP.

What’s one unexpected skill or talent you bring to the team that people might not know about? Reveal a surprising aspect of your personality or abilities that adds value to your role.

In the event that we go on a team building trip or an outing and there happens to be no rice cooker in sight, I want all of you to know that I know how to cook rice the manual way. You will all be fed.
